The small tidbit you shared of the interaction you've had with support leads me to believe we had an extremely similar and frustrating interaction with them.
They fail to understand that the code is not for sale and was a hand-out, they fail to understand that there is no "retailer" you can reach out to, and they fail to honor the expiration date on the cards.
2 things baffle me:
- "Contact the Seller/Organiser" - Even IF a seller did exist; what is the Seller Meant to Do if ALL their codes expired 18 months earlier than expected. The real issue is the EA Booth that handed theses out is IMPOSSIBLE to contact, and they were the ones to hand these out and not the TGS organisers.
- The 10/10/2027 Expiration Date on the Card is exactly 2 years post-launch yet somehow the cards expired a mere 50 DAYS post-launch. Leading me to believe they either mislabelled the codes or internally did not assign the codes their appropriate expiration. This isn't the customer's fault and EA should still honor the codes if they are valid and unused.
It should not be that hard to get the database/excel sheet with all the codes generated and grant them their rightful redemption window till 2027 - but I doubt the customer ever matters in these cases since its a free product and zero money exchanged hands; so why help us I guess.
Exactly, after spending hours talking to then, I genuinely don't belive they understood what a convention is. They told me the codes expired and they cannot grant me them, even if the codes actually are or aren't. They can clearly see the card is labeled with a specific date.
The thing that baffles me is that there is no way that we the community would have known of any expiration date that wasn't printed.
It concerns me that they didn't even try to make amends. I get hit with the same copy paste end of script bs.
As much as I wanted my in game dogtag, I at least have the irl one I can hang on my bag.
I'm curious if they will re-release this at some point.
