  • Rh0d04 is Windows Device Encryption enabled?

Method 1: Check in Settings (Windows 10/11 Home)

This method is best for users with Windows Home editions, as BitLocker management options are limited.

Open Settings by pressing Windows + I.
    Go to Privacy & security.
    Select Device encryption.
If you see "Device encryption is on" with an option to "Turn off," it is enabled.

If Windows Device Encryption is enabled then make sure you have a backup of the encryption recovery key before turning off or factory resetting TPM. Otherwise you'll be locked out of the storage drive and Windows won't boot. You'll lose access to all the encrypted data on the storage drive!

If Windows Device Encryption isn't enabled then it should be fine to factory reset TPM.
