BF6 Crashes after installing Preview Update KB5124010

I am having the same issue.

It was working perfectly fine with

26300.9445
26200.9267
26200.9168

And well any update prior to that.

Considering 26300.9539 had every single change as a gradual update it was annoying, but glad someone else is having the same issue so it means I am not alone.

For info, I can see that EA Anticheat is crashing out in both the application and system logs and reinstalling EA Anticheat hasnt helped one bit. 

Hopefully something is done before the 13th October when windows update for non-insders will get newer (albeit 26200) builds.

Launching BF6 game via Steam will result in a crash to desktop without any error message. Crash will happen 100% of the time, exactly 20-30s after initializing the game. The timing is perfectly consistent and does not vary.

Rolling back this Preview update fixes the issue entirely. I attempted numerous other actions to try to resolve the issue before rolling back the update. These include deleting graphics shader cache files, reinstalling BF6 game, reinstalling nvidia graphics driver, altering windows defender settings for BF6 app, turning off all other background processes possible.

I have submitted this same report to Windows feeback too.  Hopefully you guys can work to fix it before this update gets pushed out to the general release channel.

I was playing without issues until yesterday afternoon. Today, however, the game crashes just a few seconds after loading the start menu screen. I’ve already tried the usual fixes: repairing/reinstalling EA Javelin Anticheat, verifying game files, disabling overlays, running as administrator, closing potentially conflicting programs, adjusting exploit protection settings, and so on. Unfortunately, it still crashes. Yesterday, I updated my Nvidia drivers and installed the Windows update that was released just yesterday. Could that be the problem? I tried reverting to the old Nvidia drivers, but with no success. I'll also try a system repair. Other users on Reddit have also reported the same problem, and I tried their suggested solutions without any success.

Thanks for the details.

Try a few additional checks:

1. Verify/repair the Battlefield 6 game files through Steam or the EA app.
2. Make sure Windows is fully updated.
3. Update your GPU driver directly from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel.
4. If you're using any CPU/GPU overclocking or undervolting, temporarily return it to default settings.
5. Run the Windows DISM and SFC checks, restart the PC, and test the game again.

Also, while troubleshooting, make sure Battlefield 6, EA Javelin AntiCheat, Steam and the EA app aren't set to always Run as administrator.
