Thank you so much. Have been searching for a solution for days. Enabling A-XMP in the bios fixed it for me.

is this the same thing as XMP profile on Asus boards? Or is it a different thing?

Yes, I think so. It's called A-XMP on ASRock motherboards, but XMP is the same.
