Can only play with vpn on

As the title says, I can only play multiplayer games when my vpn is on (vpn is set to my home region strangely). Campaign is fine, but then I join a MP game I just get the battlefield splash screen then it closes the game.

Anyone have a fix for this, or is in an isp issue?
