Haven't been able to play due to this issue. Spent couple days trying to figure it out.

Mecha_Nice try launching bf6.exe as administrator.

Steps to Find the bf6.exe File:

Open Steam Library: Launch your Steam client and go to your Library.

Locate Battlefield 6: Find Battlefield 6 in your game list.

Browse Local Files: Right-click Battlefield 6 > Manage > Browse local files.

Find the Executable: This will open the game's main folder, where you'll see bf6.exe.

Right click on bf6.exe and choose 'run as administrator'.

If none of that works then it sounds like a folder access permission problem. If so, I'm not sure why bf6.exe can't access Documents\Battlefield 6 folder where the game's save file is located.

Try creating a new Win11 local administrator account. Then log out of your Windows account and log into the new Win11 account you just created. Try launching BF6 from the new Win11 account.

  • Mecha_Nice Try this, turn off all the cloud save locations. For example, Microsoft One Drive, EA app cloud storage, and Steam cloud storage.

Now delete the Documents\Battlefield 6 folder. The corrupt Battlefield 6 save file should now be deleted with no way to download back onto the computer from cloud storage.

  • Is there any risk of all my progress being deleted? Such as levels, rewards and what not? Edit: Where would the "document files" be?

Your progress/rewards will remain intact. The only thing you'll have to redo afterwards is change your graphic settings, mouse settings back to how you like them.

If you're on Windows 11, click the folder icon down on your taskbar, then click "documents".  Inside the documents folder will be a "battlefield 6" folder. Delete the "Battlefield 6".

Now restart the game. It will create a new folder for you.

Mecha_Nice deleting Documents\Battlefield 6 folder will delete all your single player progress and mouse/keyboard settings. It won't reset your multiplayer rank, weapon unlocks, or stats.

The Documents folder is in Windows File Explore.

  • Still didn't seem to work. I probably did the second option wrong, but still same message...
