Crash 0xc0000005 – ffxFsr2ResourceIsNull – RTX 5090

I am experiencing recurring crashes in Battlefield 6. The game suddenly closes during gameplay and generates Frostbite MiniDump files in the Documents folder under Battlefield 6 and CrashDumps.

I analyzed the latest dump using WinDbg. The crash shows ExceptionCode 0xc0000005 which is an Access violation. The failure bucket shows INVALID_POINTER_READ_c0000005_bf6.exe. The faulting module is bf6.exe and the image version is 1.0.407.62245.

The stack references bf6!ffxFsr2ResourceIsNull and the instruction causing the crash is mov eax, dword ptr [rdi-4]. This indicates an invalid or null resource access in the FidelityFX FSR2 rendering path.

My system specifications are AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D, ASUS TUF RTX 5090 OC, 64GB DDR5 6400MHz RAM, ASUS TUF X870E-PLUS motherboard, Windows 11 Pro fully updated, latest BIOS installed, and latest NVIDIA driver installed.

Troubleshooting already performed includes updating the BIOS, updating Windows, updating NVIDIA drivers, verifying game files, running with no overclock, confirming system stability in all other games, testing TAA, DLAA, FSR Native AA, XeSS Native AA and OFF, testing different graphics presets and frame rate limits, and confirming there are no critical errors in Event Viewer.

The issue temporarily stopped after a BIOS update but later returned. The system is completely stable in all other applications. The crash consistently points to bf6.exe and specifically the FSR2 resource path.

If this is a known issue related to FSR2 or the rendering pipeline, please advise.
