TL;DR
After the October 16 update, Battlefield 6 crashes with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG / DEVICE_REMOVED when entering any multiplayer menu, firing range, or matchmaking.
Campaign mode works fine, so the issue is not driver or hardware related.
The problem appeared immediately after today’s patch and seems linked to the new menu rendering system.
Many users are reporting identical crashes since the update.
✅ Campaign → Stable
❌ Multiplayer / Loadout Menu / Matchmaking → Freeze + DXGI crash
🧩 Already tested: drivers, DX cache, ASLR exception, overlays off, DX11 mode, file verification — no change.
This is very likely a client-side or server UI bug introduced in the October 16 patch.

Summarize:
After today’s Battlefield 6 update (October 16), the game consistently crashes with a DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG / DEVICE_REMOVED error when trying to access or interact with any multiplayer-related menu.
The issue occurs right after selecting a mode.
The game either freezes for a few seconds and then shows the DirectX error message, or returns directly to the desktop.
This issue did not exist prior to the update — I was able to play without any crashes earlier the same day. The problem started immediately after the patch.
Interestingly, the campaign mode works perfectly fine — no crashes, stable performance — which strongly suggests the issue is not hardware- or driver-related, but connected to the online UI or menu renderer introduced in the latest update.
I have already tried:
Updating and rolling back GPU drivers
Verifying game files on Steam
Restarting PC and clearing DXCache / GLCache
Deleting PROFSAVE_profile and other config files
Disabling overlays (Steam, NVIDIA, Discord, Logitech GHub)
Adding ASLR exception in Exploit Protection
Testing both DX11 and DX12 launch parameters
Flushes DNS
None of these steps solved the problem.
The crash happens only when the game attempts to connect to online menus or matchmaking systems
Additional notes:
This seems to be a widespread issue since the October 16 patch.
Multiple users are reporting identical behavior on EA Answers and Reddit: campaign works, multiplayer or menu crashes instantly.
Probably the problem appears to be caused by the new menu lighting and rendering system introduced in this update.
I have the same problem, but it occurs at random moments during a match. Sometimes I can play 3-4 rounds without any issues, other times it crashes 2-3 minutes after joining a server. The same thing happened during the beta tests. I've tried all the "solutions" available on the forum, Reddit, and Google. Nothing works. The game is currently unplayable...
