The problem lies in the fsr2PipelineNull of the Frostbite engine. As several people have already pointed out in the past, the engine is requesting a variable that does not exist in the game or may have become corrupted (that’s the conclusion I came to). Take a look at the FSR upscaling files and check the memory/storage space: at the top you’ll find the game’s own upscaling, and at the bottom the upscaling coming directly from AMD.
As you can see, the size difference is almost double. In my opinion, DICE somehow corrupted the upscaling file. Instead of providing the full version, they seem to have minimized the code inside the .dll file for reasons only they know!
Nevertheless since EA fired a huge proportion of BF6 devs we never gonna get a fix!
UPDATE 19-03-26
DICE seems to have updated the FFX SDK files for the FSR upscaling function. Now we’ll see if the problem persists or if it has been solved.

Did you find it yourself or read it somewhere else? I have been actively reading on forums/reddit about this same error but no one ever mentioned this, only that the error was somehow caused by FSR. You might have actually solved the issue lmao.
Do you think it's possible for the community to try and fix it? Have you tried sharing this information on other platforms?

Yeah, I did. On the OptiScaler Discord server they mentioned that DICE is using the FFX 2.0 SDK for BF6, which is why the upscaler .dll file is only about 12 MB. Furthermore, the file size increased to around 21 MB with the FFX 2.1 SDK, which suggests the issue likely has nothing to do with the files themselves.
Last but not least, they said it’s probably an implementation error. If you remember, before the main game was released (during the beta), when someone was on the spawn selection screen and also was using the FSR upscaling (I’m emphasizing this because it’s important), the FPS didn’t drop half of the frame rate. After the release of the main game, this problem begun and unfortunately stayed and it is still present for the last 10 months.
Also, when I use a different upscaler such as XeSS, I don’t have these FPS drop problems. So yeah, DICE probably needs to look into this. I am not saying thaat I DID found the problem but you know how it goes.....

Hello again are you still experiencing DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED or DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG??
I just checked the BF6 files and noticed that DICE updated the FFX SDK files for the upscaling function! Also, it seems they’ve now fixed the FPS drops on the spawn selection screen!- Gustavo0803992 days agoRising Traveler
Man i'm back playing since it's free now (refunded the game after 20 hours because of constant crashes). Played for over 2 hours yesterday with no crashes, but i had some settings turned to low-medium and FSR off. I will try again today and give you a feedback if everything works fine.
Thanks BTW!
