EA ID missing in EA connect tab: can’t add cross platform friends

I have encountered an issue where my EA ID seems to bug out in the EA connect tab of the game (Xbox Series X). The issue is manifested as the following:

• In the upper right corner of the EA connect tab there should be information about the gamertag and online status. In my case there is nothing there (empty and can’t select).
• In the “party” tab it says 1 of 4 players and should usually show the gamertag of the person playing. However, my gamertag is not there, it is empty while indicating that there should be something there.
• In the “player search” tab on the right side of the screen, there usually is information about “adding friends” and the persons EA ID. In my case this entire part is missing. 
  
  

The consequence of this issue is that I can’t add friends that play on other platforms (for instance PS5). I can find their profile and send a request but on their side they don’t receive the request. The same friend tried to search for my profile (searched on EA ID and Xbox gamertag) but got no result.
