Game Crashing - new pc build

Just built new pc - have attached dxdiag. Have updated bios and windows to latest version and installed all the latest drivers, although not double checked all of them.

in bios - enabled secure boot, enabled PBO, have tried with expo enabled and now disabled

When I first started bf6 it would crash after 5 mins. Sometimes the crashes are to desktop, other times it restarts the pc, frozen once.  I tried various different in game settings i.e playing on lowest settings in 4k and 1440p, changed power plan, turned off nvidia overlay, and added bf6.exe and EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.exe to Windows Exploit Protection exceptions and disable Control Flow Guard (CFG) for both - no difference. Then I turned expo off and put memory back to default - the game worked for longer about 20mins but then crashed in game and it restarted pc. Have also Disabled Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling and turned off all overlays and  programs running in background.

Temps and fan speeds etc all seem normal, played rdr2 and rust for several hours previous day and no problems.

other software/ games installed: Asrock polychrome, Deepcool Creative (AIO control software)  Rust, RDR2 online, steam and Discord, thats it.

Only thing I can think of that I haven't tried is uninstalling gpu drivers and trying older version.

Any suggestions? or just wait for game update and hope that fixes issues.

  • RAM on QVL?

If it runs longer on XMP disabled its most of the time a problem with the ram.

change RAM stick order or one at the time and try again, do a memtest86 to check ram for failures.

Bought a new Kit yesterday and it was faulty out of the sealed package.

  • So as game keeps causing pc to reboot I assume its power related, when I queried this it was suggested that I test for psu transient spikes. To do this I capped the frames at 90,  the logic being that uncapped framerates cause the GPU to draw maximum power instantly when rendering simple scenes (like menus or skyboxes), creating massive transients. Capping FPS smooths out these power requests. Consequently if the crashing stops completely when FPS is capped, the issue is almost certainly transient spikes overwhelming your PSU, confirming the need for a hardware upgrade or undervolting.

So according to this either I have a faulty psu, improperly connected wires or I need to undervolt my GPU. Suprised that I may need to undervolt the gpu, not something I particularly want to do. What do you guys make of this? any other possible causes I should consider. Any input would be appreciated.

    Other suggestions:

Battlefield 6 causing full system reboots is typically caused by Power Supply Unit (PSU) transient spikesunstable RAM/CPU settings, or EA Anti-Cheat conflicts, rather than simple software bugs.

PSU Transient Spikes: Modern GPUs (like RTX 3080/4090) draw sudden power bursts that can trip the over-current protection on older or lower-quality PSUs, causing an instant hard reboot. Check Windows Event Viewer for Kernel-Power Event ID 41; if present, replace the PSU with a unit having high transient handling (e.g., Corsair HX series).

Hardware InstabilityUnstable RAM XMP profiles or CPU overclocks often trigger crashes under BF6’s specific load.Try disabling XMP, setting RAM to default speeds (e.g., 3200MHz), or using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility to lower the Performance Core Ratio on 13th/14th Gen Intel CPUs.

Anti-Cheat & Driver Issues: Conflicts with EA Anti-Cheat can cause state locks. Try performing a full power drain (unplug PC, hold power button for 10 seconds) to reset hardware states. Additionally, update GPU drivers, disable ASLR for bf6event.exe, or switch display mode from Borderless to Fullscreen to resolve launch crashes.
