GPU fans ramp up to maximum speed when I tab out of the game to the desktop. This happens even when nothing GPU-intensive is running and I’m just in the game’s main menu. When I switch back to the game, GPU usage returns to normal.
I’ve already enabled the frame rate limit in the game, but the issue still occurs.
There is a framerate limit for the menu aswell, i have it set on 15 fps.
This also limits Gunrage menu and gunrange fps are linked.
Yes, all frame limit options are on. Doesn't help when tabbing out.
I do not tab out i ALT+Enter in and out. i will test it later what happens when i tab out normally.
I think I found a workaround, but I still think that this should be addressed and fixed by the devs.
Workaround is changing background app frame rate limit to minimum in gpu driver settings, in my case it's in nvidia app > bf6 > legacy settings > bg app max frame rate > 20.
This should reduce gpu usage to some extent in case someone else is experiencing this issue. I guess amd and intel also may have something similar.
