I've been commenting all over the forums as I'm having the same issue. After some research, I found that (at least in my case and many others) I'm connecting to servers in Santiago Chile despite living east coast US. This causes super high ping and packet loss, which in turn makes toy lose frames and "slow motion"
Check to see if it's happening to you too. In a matchmaking game, go to the menu and then settings, in the bottom right it should tell you some info. If you see "Santiago Chile"...you're in the same boat. I think you also have to go into settings>System and turn on the network graph to see this data.
No workaround that I found, only way to play and not bug out is playing custom servers until EA fixes this. It also doesn't matter what launcher you bought the game from
Yep, that’s the issue just checked my settings while I was in game and it said in the bottom right corner of my screen that I was connected to Santiago by default
