How do you COMPLETELY disable a controller in PC BF6? (including in menus)

Hey all,

I have a joystick/throttle HOTAS combo hooked to my PC for flight sims, but I don't want to use it for BF6.  Now I could rant about how DICE won't simply let us disable the controller completely instead of making us kludge it by remapping every single function manually, but I did that over in the other forum. :)

No, my question is, how do I disable the controller in the menu UI?  I'm still seeing the tooltips flash back and forth between button presses and key presses, and more importantly, I can't progress in the campaign because I get to the mission with the drone, and I can't fly it, it just spins because it's picking up a HOTAS input.  And I have checked every menu I can find and disabled every controller input I can find and it's still happening.  Help?
