Latency peaks and rubberbanding - Middle Eastern Region Matchmaking

Hi guys,

I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s been experiencing this, but I’d like it to be raised as a significant concern and patch / update is needed. I’m a Battlefield vet since 1942 came out and played on various devices. Now I’m on PS5, since that’s where most of my friends are.

A great deal of games I’ve played, I’ve been experiencing huge lag spikes to >500-700-1000 ping. Going up from literally 14 to these sudden peaks. Causing absolutely zero hit registration, even though targets can see the player plain as day and kill me in this case.

I’m based out of the Middle East, and using the default game mode browser to have matchmaking put me in the best possible server connection. None of this is network related as I’ve tested and checked. Dubai has one of the highest network speeds and the console is connected to the Ethernet.

Aside from the lag spikes, I’ve either been put in 4-10 human players out of the entire lobby being filled with bots. This is horrible?

Using the default game mode search option and matchmaking has to factor in the experience a user is about to get? Even when looking through the custom server browser, there are hardly any options for Middle Eastern countries or APAC region it seems, and we’re all forced to play high latency servers.

Please fix and address this, as there are plenty of members in these regions that want adequate server infrastructure to play the game properly.

Thanks in advance for your reply and support.

I’m also having issues and am based in the Middle East as well. Just moved here and last week when I was in USA (east coast) I had no such issues. I feel like it’s a regional thing bc other people in the Middle East have reported the same
