Locked out for 6 months after moving Steam link
Yes, I know it was my own click. I'm posting because there's no process for fixing it, not to argue about whose fault it is.
What happened: launched BF6 on Steam, it made me an EA account automatically. Played on it for months, everything went there — progress, battle pass, purchases. Later realised I already had an older EA account from previous Battlefields, so I unlinked and moved Steam over to tidy it up. Didn't know that means losing access to everything on the first account(freaking crazy design flaw of that flow).
Now my stuff is on account A, my Steam licence points at account B, and I can't move it back for 6 months.
Agents say that are no tool to action the unlink(although there are multiple forum posts about people getting their accounts back), can't add a licence to the other account(at least let me play until the lockout finishes), nothing they can do. So that means the only answer EA has is "wait half a year or buy the game again", which can't be right when it's a few hundred hours and money spent on things i cant use now.
I have access to both accounts and invoices for everything. Nothing hacked, nothing stolen — which is the whole reason the 6 month rule exists. It's one guy with two accounts, one of which EA created for me.
Any CM able to look at this or point me somewhere useful?
Hey unickdesigns,
Thanks for taking the time to explain the situation. This might not be the response you were hoping for, but if you've already connected with live support and they said there's nothing that can be done, then I'm afraid you'll need to wait out that cooldown period.
Unfortunately, we don't have the tools to support account-related requests here on the forums, and live support is the best channel for help in this case.
