Lost FPS after Season 2 update

Hello,

After the Season 2 update I am experiencing a massive FPS drop in Battlefield 6.

Before the update the game was running perfectly fine without any issues. I was playing without Frame Generation enabled and my FPS was consistently between 150 and 180 FPS.

After the update my performance dropped significantly and now I am getting around 50 to 70 FPS. I did not change any graphics settings drivers or system configuration. Everything is exactly the same as before.

My system specifications are:

GPU: RX 9070 XT

CPU: Ryzen 5 7500F

RAM: 16GB DDR5

This performance drop happened immediately after the Season 2 update.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Thank you.

  • I have different specs but I have noticed something slightly different. My FPS has been the same as before, BUT... I have been getting more stability issues (drop in FPS, latency issues, etc.). These issues were far less common in season 1, but I am experiencing the mentioned issues more frequently (at least once per game now).

  • If the “Season 2" update is causing issues, here's what I would consider:

    1.  Install the latest AMD drivers if AMD has them available.
    2.  Double-check that frame generation is turned off.
    3.  Ensure graphics settings like “V-Sync” or “Ray Tracing” aren't set too high.
    4.  If your gaming platform is Windows 10/11, I would recommend running chkdsk /f /b /r c:\ from an external device like a USB drive.
