Missing coins after duplicate Season 1 battlepass purchase

I bought 1,100 coins through the Xbox store for £8.99 and then used them to purchase the season 1 battle pass. After completing the battle pass, I had earned 1,100 coins collectively from the free and paid passes. After completing the bonus levels of the battle pass, it was showing that I didn't actually have the battle pass anymore and needed to purchase it again. I did it out of curiosity and lost the 1,100 coins.

No amount of talking to EA support or requesting assistance has helped. 
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Did you find a solution?
