Monitor losing display

This started on Tuesday and happened twice within an hour or so. Once I was in the main menu and other loading into a game. My monitor will go to sleep like my hdmi cam unplugged or so, then I’ll hear a windows error/pop up then I loose all audio. I tried re plugging my hdmi and monitor power cord nothing changed the only solution was restarting my computer.

I have a 3080 and a HP omen monitor. Don’t think it has anything to do with my monitor.

Genkar85 I would need the model number of the monitor to search HP's website for a monitor driver.

Usually when a monitor blacks out it's due to an unsupported resolution or refresh rate being selected.

The monitor driver lets Windows know which resolutions and refresh rates the monitor supports.

I know what this monitor does and does not support. This issue came out of nowhere and there aren’t any new drivers for this monitor.

Genkar85 does your CPU have an integrated GPU built into it? If yes, is the integrated GPU disabled in BIOS?

  • Genkar85 it sounds like the computer might be crashing. Does pressing alt + ctrl + del bring anything up on the screen?
