This is an ongoing issue with BF-games and has been a problem for a long time. Only BF1 felt somewhat decent, but that was probably because the weapons, in general, had a low ROF.
BF6 even feels like its gotten worse with season 1, now most of my deaths feels like you describe.
TTD and general visibility are the biggest issue in the game imho.
