Severe Gameplay Lag, Audio Crackle & Menu Stutter

Platform:

PC – EA App / Steam (Windows 11)

System Specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (6-Core, 3.7 GHz)
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT (16 GB VRAM)
RAM: 64 GB DDR4 (2400 MHz)
Storage: 2.73 TB (623 GB free)
Driver Version: AMD Adrenalin 25.9.1 (Released 25/08/2025)
Connection Type: Wired (BT Broadband, UK – Slough core routing, average 32 ms to EA/Akamai London)
Summary of Issue:

Since the mid-October Battlefield 6 update, the game has become increasingly unstable despite strong system specs and a clean network connection.
Problems are evident both in the menus and during gameplay:

Severe lag and stuttering during matches (movement delay, hit-reg delay, rubber-banding).
Audio crackle and distortion in the main menu and loading screens.
Menu inputs feel delayed or “sticky” even before entering a server.
Ping values that were previously 25–37 ms (UK servers) now show 90–100 ms+ even when connecting to EU servers.
Changing to the Europe/France region reduces ping (~36 ms) but lag and stutter still persist in-game.

No other titles or apps show these problems — only Battlefield 6.

Diagnostics Performed:

✅ ping ea.com → Avg 32 ms, 0 % packet loss
✅ tracert ea.com → Route completes via BT Slough → Akamai London (stable)
✅ Clean reinstall of AMD Adrenalin 25.9.1
✅ Reset BF6 cache/config (Documents\Battlefield 6\Settings)
✅ Disabled Radeon Overlay, Anti-Lag+, Enhanced Sync, and Spatial Sound
✅ Adjusted Audio Dynamic Range (Wide → Medium)
✅ Tested multiple servers (France, Germany, All Regions)
✅ Verified no background apps, overlays, or CPU spikes

Expected Result:

Smooth menus and stable background audio
25–40 ms ping for nearby servers
Consistent gameplay without rubber-banding or desync

Actual Result:
Noticeable input delay and stutter, even in menus
Music and ambient sounds crackle intermittently
Gameplay lag, teleporting, and late hit registration
Pings remain high or fluctuate despite a stable external connection

Additional Notes:
Issues began around 24–25 October 2025 following backend maintenance.
This appears tied to the client’s background synchronisation thread (store, friends list, profile) or region reassignment to continental servers.
Connection to EA/Akamai London is confirmed stable — the problem is within the Battlefield 6 client or backend.

Request:

Please confirm:

Whether UK/Ireland server clusters have been migrated or are under maintenance.
Whether recent backend sync changes are causing client-side lag and audio distortion.
If a patch or hotfix is planned to address this behaviour.
