Severe Network Issues on Battlefield 6 in any Game Mode
After finishing the campaign, I decided to play a few online matches before heading out for the day. Back on the morning of October 21st, everything ran perfectly—no problems whatsoever.
A few days later, I started experiencing severe issues. The top of my screen showed three outlined boxes stacked on top of each other, along with a circle containing an “X” on the line. I initially thought it was performance-related, so I lowered my graphics settings, and that seemed to help temporarily.
However, when I played again a few days later, the problem returned—worse than before. I was experiencing constant freezing that would eventually lock up my entire PC and crash the game. I went through a full deep-dive: cleared every cache, verified my files, and tested performance. Everything on my system was running perfectly.
What I originally thought were performance problems turned out to be network-related. Players were teleporting, rubber-banding, and desyncing—all signs of major latency issues. The strange part is that every other game I own works flawlessly with no connection issues. I’m on a wired Cat-8 Ethernet connection, so this behavior made no sense.
After more troubleshooting, I discovered the small circle with the “X” represents a network error, not a performance warning. I reset my modem, flushed all network caches, and ran multiple tests. Finally, I performed a traceroute (screenshot attached) and confirmed that the issue lies primarily on the EA/DICE server side, not mine.
It’s honestly discouraging. I just want to enjoy the game, but right now it’s nearly unplayable. Players teleport across the map, my movement feels delayed or “floaty,” and I often find myself rubber-banding so badly that I get killed by someone who was clearly behind cover or on the other side of a hill.
It’s especially frustrating when playing with friends—while their matches run smoothly, I’m constantly battling these issues. I really hope someone at EA or DICE can look into this, because as much as I love the game, I can’t keep playing in this state.
