Unplayable hit registration
Hey EA/DICE Devs,
I’m posting because hit registration in Battlefield 6 has been consistently poor, and it seems like lag compensation maybe punishing skilled players. This isn’t just my experience—other players are reporting similar issues in multiplethreads.
I’m having the same issue as these discussions:

About me (so you know I’m not new or guessing): I’ve played the BF franchise since 2002. I’m level-capped in BF1942 and BF: Vietnam (gamer clan), played BF2 (gamer clan), BF2142, BF1, BFV (level 350), and BF2042 (level300). I’m not claiming I’m the best player, but I know the difference between normal desync and systematic hit-registration problems.
What I’m seeing (repro pattern):
- The in-game network/damage and map indicators suggest my shots are registering server-side.
- The visual HUD hit markers also confirm shots are connecting.
- However, many of those confirmed hits fail to consistently convert into damage or kills.
Examples:
- I can land 40–45 bullets into a target (server + visual HUD indicate hits), but only 20–25 register.
- With the M4, I can put roughly 28 bullets into a target (near full mag), but only 10–15 register.
- Then I get killed almost immediately by the same opponent—sometimes back-to-back in the sameencounter.
This happens regardless of:
- Server selection/region
- Frame rate and settings changes (I toggled every option mentioned in the forums)
- Weapons and engagement ranges (the pattern repeats)
Troubleshooting I’ve already done:
- Windows 11 clean install
- Full removal/reinstall of Battlefield 6 and wiping BF config/ref files
- Network reset commands: ipconfig /release, /renew, /flushdns, /registerdns; netsh winsockreset; netsh intip reset
- Multiple speed tests (example results: 1Gb down / 30Gb up) Even after all of that, it remains unplayable.
What would help (request to the devs): Please treat this as a netcode/lag-compensation/hit-registration issue andinvestigate using the player reports in the linked threads—especially cases where shots show server/indicator “connect”plus HUD hit markers, but damage/kill does not follow.
If possible, compare:
- server hit-confirm events vs
- client HUD hit markers vs
- actual damage application
Also, please confirm whether there’s a known issue currently affecting hit registration/compensation tuning for specificusers, and outline steps testers can use to reliably reproduce it.
Right now, with this level of inconsistency (including near-instant deaths from the same opponents while my shots failto convert), Battlefield 6 is effectively unplayable for me and for a large number of other players. I’ll be in a party withfriends, and it’s genuinely difficult to enjoy the game in its current state—especially when players shouldn’t have totroubleshoot a shooter to find out whether bullets are counting.
PLEASE escalate this, since the pattern is real, repeatable, and matches other players’ reports in the EA forums.
Thanks,
SPOOOOON
