[Steam] Game won’t launch

Problem: Launching the game on Steam launches Javelin AC, but the game itself won’t start for a long period of time. Once it does launch, Steam has already considered the game stopped and launched again, and as a result it crashes. Previously it showed “Try to run from its distribution platform” error message, now it just stops working without any pop-up.

Current solution: Turning off the internet before launching allows the game to start, turning the internet on again after that connects the game to online services.

My question: Is there a more permanent solution that doesn’t require me to unplug the cable all the time? So far I tried reinstalling JAC via a separate installer, but it only removed the aforementioned distribution platform pop-up.
