Re: (Mini-)Stutter Since 1.1.3.0 Update

Ever since the Winter Offensive update, I've been getting stuttering issues. I've never had this issue prior, and when I use RTSS to monitor performance - the stutter does not show up on a frame time graph! This type of stutter is not measurable with RTSS.

How to trigger the stutter:
Pressing almost any key while in the shooting range or a multiplayer match can trigger the stutter. The WASD movement keys do not trigger the stutter. Mouse buttons do not trigger the stutter. As long as I'm not pressing any key (other than WASD), its perfectly smooth.

My keyboard layout is mostly default, so anytime I press Q,E,R,T,Y,F,G,C,V,X,Z or anything other than WASD, it will stutter. This makes it hard just to run around and shoot, because I can't do both without it stuttering.

For now, the game is not playable for me.

    Same here.

Oh and btw the supposed Steam "Offline" fix does nothing about this. I was running butter smooth before the update.

XxKrackerxX going offline in Steam Friends List might fix the stutters.

Steam Friends List Conflict: DICE has acknowledged an issue causing in-game stuttering, with a temporary workaround being to go offline in the Steam friends menu - a bizarre bug that suggests poor integration testing.

This is an updated response for Hot fix v1.1.3.1 - It does not address my issue.

Solution previously offered: Signing Out of Friends in Steam - does not make a difference.

    Issue in detail:
Its still stuttering for me. This stutter does not appear on a frame time graph. My DualShock 4 controller does not exhibit this stutter issue, no matter what the button combination is - it works the way it should. This issue only applies to Keyboard + Mouse.

To trigger the stutter - press any keyboard buttons like:
Q,W,E,R,T,Y,U,I,O,P,F,[,],\,S,F,G,H,J<K,L,:,",Z,X,C,V,B,N,M, ~,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,-,=,Backspace, All Numpad keys, Right Shift, Spacebar, Tab, Caps Lock.
To make the stutter more visible:
Move the mouse around while pressing any of the keys mentioned above. Pressing any 2 or more of these keys at the same time compounds the issue significantly! Imagine accidentally pressing melee and change weapons at the same time = severe stutter and this is not reflected in performance monitoring software (RTSS) so I'm not sure how to measure it.

Keys/Buttons that do NOT trigger the stutter:
Keys A,D, Left Alt, Right Alt, Left Ctrl and Right Ctrl do NOT trigger the stutter. No issues with pressing mouse buttons.

Why only these keys? I don't know.

This is the only issue I'm currently dealing with for v1.1.3.1

Holy hell. It's the keys. What Kracker has detailed is my exact problem.

by chance do you have a kb that binds A and S to fn to switch between f keys and multimedia keys?  try switching to a kb that doesn't and see if it makes a difference.  like a full size one.  i have a 60% one but it  doesn't bind any of the wsad or control keys for any special functions.  turn off sticky keys in windows too.

are you overclocking your ram?     Try turning that off and see what happens.  Also try changing to a full size keyboard and see what happens.  also use separate controller for mouse and kb.  usually there is one on the back for most systems usb 2.  on mine i don't have that but I have separate 3.2 10gps ports and I just plug my 8000hz kb and mouse in those.

    My RAM Kit: XPG Lancer RGB DDR5 6400MHz 32GB (2x16GB) CL32
The native clock speed is 6400Mhz, but for stability I am underclocking it to 6200Mhz (not related to this issue).
So no, I'm not overclocking my RAM.

I am already using a full size keyboard. Its a Logitech USB-C MX Keys Advanced Wireless Illuminated Keyboard.
Keyboard wireless receiver > USB Hub > Desktop PC
My DualShock 4 is receiver > USB Hub > Desktop PC

Because this issue only showed up after the v1.1.3.0 (Winter Offensive update), I'm pretty certain it cannot be solved on the end-user side. This issue is coming from the back-end (developer side).

As Kracker said its related to pressing keyboard buttons. For me its A,S,2,3 and maybe others.

There is a tempoarary fix for this problem:

Press Alt or Alt Gr and this will circumvent the Javelin Anti Cheat from checking your keyboard.

Some people are taping this keyboard button. But that obviously causes other problems.

For me this problem rarely happens in BF6, but BF2042, BF5 and BF1 are unplayable because of this issue.

I have no Riva Tuner installed.

Maybe its only happening to Windwos 10 users?

I'm assuming you are on steam.    Also its because those are all keys bound to your function key.  The culprit is the A button in your case cause you probably use it for strafe and its the keys to switch to function. and S is the key to switch to multimedia.     What you have to do,  is try a keyboard that doesn't have that button bound and see if you still have the problem.  I been repeating myself for weeks on this now. I just got bf6 after getting a new pc on black friday.  And I was trying out keyboards.  I had to return one because of a similar issue.  In my case its cause I was binding the wsad to SOCD advanced function on my HE keyboard.  But You don't want a gaming keyboard,  that has any of the wsad bounds to the function key brother.   And I literally contacted the manufacturer and explained this to them.    The keyboard I have now use the M row for multimedia keys so there is no function keys to switch layers, and you can also even change the function key on this keyboard if you want,  but again not possible on a keyboards that has a built in switch for the different layers.

@Kracker don't plug anything into the hub and see what happens.  use the port on your pc that goes to the cpu.   and put your ram to stock speeds.   maybe it only came with the update,  but most people don't have the issue apparently.  So it has two do with your software and hardware.
