When using Gadget why switch to primary

Why is it when i use a 1 time use gadget like the motion sensor tugs, does it take me back to my primary weapon? like why wouldnt it just put me back to whatever i had out at the time? Kind of inconvenient when in close quarters using my pistol, drop tactical and then im trying to quickscope someone with my sniper when they walk around the corner?
