Where did the Seoul server disappear?
I’m writing to express deep frustration and concern regarding the current matchmaking system and server access policies affecting Korean players.
When we asked for improvements to the Korean matchmaking system, was the solution really to block access to Seoul servers entirely and force connections to Japanese or Chinese servers? I understand that during off-peak hours, connecting to servers with more active users—like Japan or China—can help matchmaking. But why are Korean players still being routed to foreign servers even during peak Korean hours when plenty of local users are online?
Connecting to overseas servers might be tolerable if it truly improves matchmaking. But the current netcode is unacceptable. Even with BTK weapons at close range, landing 5–6 hits doesn’t kill the enemy. At longer distances, even more than 10 hits fail to register properly. This is not just a matchmaking issue—it’s a fundamental gameplay problem.
Is shutting down Seoul servers your idea of “fixing” matchmaking? Was the Seoul server only opened during launch for show? Is the cost of maintaining Seoul servers too burdensome? If Korean players are expected to connect to Japanese and Chinese servers for matchmaking, then players from those regions should also be able to connect to Seoul servers. Why is it only one-way?
If you’re going to force Korean users onto foreign servers, at the very least, fix the netcode first. Please, we urge you to act quickly. Let us use the Korean servers again. What’s the point of having servers in Korea if we’re not allowed to use them?
Sincerely,
