0 health and still alive

For some reason since the latest update for battlefield 4 on PS4 I am constantly getting killed by others players that happen to have 0 health.  I can see that they have 0 health because of the death camera.  I have no idea why this is happening because after I drain a clip into my opponent they get a lucky shot, drop me and clearly on my screen they have 0 health but continue to play.  Then if someone else in my squad kills them I get a squad assist kill.  It is becoming more and more frequent as I play and I am getting very annoyed.
