Solved

2 more issues in my year long quest to play bf4

Bought the  game premium on pre order. Played for a bit but it became aparantly that my PC wasnt up to it. I start saving up. Finally I get a PC that can run it without graphical stuttering. I log i nto Battlelog and I get banned to help my account be secure... 2 weeks later I get  unbanned. All good I think...

Nope. I still having issues.:

First off all is there a way that doesnt require me to reinstall the battlelog plugins every time I want to join a server? I am using Firefox with some very standard addons (java, ad block and a few video plugins)

Next when I finally manage to get past the plug in bonus round, I get a black screen when Battlefiled runs. By that I mean the battlefiled windows pops up and all I can see in the bottom right is the origin message about [shift] and [f1]. The rest of the BF4 window is just black.

PC specs

Intel 5920k @ 4.2ghz

Asus V Ramapge Extreme X99 mb

16GB (4x4GB) Dominator Platinum, 2667MHz

2x 980 sc in SLI

Asus PG278Q ROG Swift 27" Monitor

I have included the above specs in case there is some conflict that I do not know about. Also I am using the latest nvidia drivers (version 347.25).

From what I have seen there are some very helpful people on these forums, so I thank you in advance for any tips and advice you can give me.

    You can try reinstalling first.

Idea is that some files may be left behind and still cause problems after.

    Usually I suggest.

    Reinstalling

    --

    no?

    Uninstall

    Reinstall

    --

    no?

    Uninstall

    Driver Sweeper

    reinstall

I skipped first two because your nVidia CP was crashing... seemed like a good idea to start completely fresh.

The Advanced -> 'Clean Install'  during setup is mostly for old profiles I believe.

    Go back to Document/BF4/Settings

    PROFSAVE_profile edit with notepad

    These values

    GstRender.FullscreenEnabled 0

    GstRender.FullscreenMode 2

    GstRender.FullscreenScreen 1     (this one might need to be a 0... can't remember)

Cant do this, as it doesnt exist (maybe this is made when you first run the game? - never been able to run Bf4)

Go to nVidia 3D Properties for BF4.exe.  Force SLI OFF. - nVidia Control panel crashes when I try and run it - currenlty trying to get this fixed (http://puu.sh/g4GoJ/8e729496a7.png)

CLean boot made no difference - so its not a program conflict I guess.

So I guess its an nvidia issue. If anyone comes up with anything that might help then please let me know. Thanks to everyone that has posted thus far. You have been great.

WHat is the advantage of removing the display drivers rather than just reinstalling? I am going to follow your advice, I am just interested.

Well it seems that a clean install of the nvidia drivers was what  it required. I had reinstalled these drivers several times before this, to no effect. Thanks to everyone that has helped me. Awesome community.
