A lot of Cheating in bf4

Hi,

I bought bf4 some year(s) ago, but only couple weeks I started playing and Im seeing massive cheating and its like more then 50% of the servers have cheating happening.

I will not detail the different type of cheating and/or unusual things I see as I dont want to divert from my main reason im posting.

And unless all other thousands of never ending threads about cheating and some interesting ones where community went through the exercise of proposing actions in how to solve or mitigate the problem, I would like to - From my perspective as player wanting to enjoy a game product I payed for (I payed all BF4 game, expansions, premium etc..) :

1. How can I know in Server Browser what are the best servers to connect into ? I read in forums some servers have more anti-cheating in place etc..

2. As the community posts all over the internet showing angry for the slow proper care of the cheating problem, I wonder -and im not legal acknowledged person- but wouldn't it help making pressure to EA and/or have the responsibility to fix the problem a simple solution based in the simple idea:

"I want full refund of all my money for everything I payed -original game, all expansions, DLC and Premium, since im not able to proper enjoy the use of the product/service I payed for?"

Look forward to get feedback from everyone (gamers, community and/or EA).

I wonder if in all those legal, term and conditions of the BF4 game is there some legal remark that we -gamers- can use and ask for refund ? Or does current game legal already -smartly- prevents a refund based in multiplayer problem with cheating ?

Thanks for any elucidation on this,

Emanuel O.

  • Hi @BudhaBF

Unfortunately the Forums cannot help you with your current issue,

I'm sorry but I don't really know how to refund your EA Games however I think If you spent more than few hours on the game and you bought it a long time ago (like 3-4 months) you cannot refund the game. Try contacting EA Support for more information: https://help.ea.com/en/

  • Emanuel there is nothing to be done. 50% of servers being filled with cheaters is just completely illogical. If that was true there'd be no BF4 players because on the very rare occasion that a cheater actually does enter a server the server completely empties out in a matter of minutes since it's no fun to play. Most suspected instances of cheating is either skill gap between players (with your K\D of 0.49 this is a likely scenario), lag creating an illusion of something that is completely different on the other player's screen exacerbated by client side hit detection, or a combination of the two. Make sure that you are playing on servers inside of your local region to minimize the lag contribution..

Regarding which servers to play on I recommend playing on actively admined clan servers as they can kick suspected cheaters and glitchers right away. Any cheater will most likely go to an official DICE server due to it not being actively admined.

Regarding a refund for the game that you purchased years ago and all other ancillary content, that will not happen. You've played over 75 hours on PC so you are outside both the time played and time after purchase restrictions for the Great Game guarantee.

One thing that I didn't mention is that you can rent your own server from a number of server providers and kick any suspected cheaters yourself.

Thanks for the EA link, i just checked and its completly unfriendly:
"(..)You can make a refund request:

Within 24 hours of first launching the game.
Within seven days from the day you bought it, if you have not launched the game.
Within seven days from the release date if you pre-ordered the game, if you have not launched the game.(..)".

Basically EA only refunds in 1 day and only for technical problems.
So cheating problems or even if one simply didn't enjoyed a game are not refundable reasons.

But.. even if they were, its useless given the short time frame of... one day since customer 1st launched the game.

Well it's obvious how more and more customers are getting enraged with the unfriendly customer helpless context.

But.. that also means opportunity for competition.
In rhe XXI century where most online 5 stars services gave great refund/return policies.. its bad and sad to imaginehiw kaotic must be EA internals given the evidence of proper customer support rights and fixing of the major problem that is all the cheating happening online.
Im going to forward my attention to European Union as im sure its against EU customer rights what i just read in EA refund webpage.

    Thanks,
    Emanuel O.

Even a far more liberal refund policy would not have covered 75 hours worth of play time.
