I had the same problem with springs update. And now Déjà-vu.
I can't believe you're all bitching about this without taking more time to practice.
AA was way too OP. Of course you will need some time adapting to the new system. I turned Auto rotation off myself a few months ago (I use mostly infantry/carbine rifles) and yes it was a bit more difficult and yes I lost some CQC 1v1 against people still using it but after 2 weeks I was back on the same level again.
Also now, EVERYONE has this 'disadvantage' now for a bit so it's completely fair. Also, once you're used to this, you can be more satisfied with your kiills cause you made them yourself.
Just practice and it will be okay after some time.
- 8 years agoAnd before everyone had that advantage, its not like some people got it while others didn't.
And me and everyone else here were very happy with how the game was. I don't need to give myself a pat on the back and say "Atta boy" ever time i get a kill without AA. I game to have fun and kill a few hours, I get no satisfaction from killing without AA. I already get enough challenges at work and school to go through and feel satisfied with my life.- 8 years agoAim Assist needs to be fixed on the PC version. The latest patch completely broke it, and now controller players do not stand a chance. They did before the patch, even if they were still at a disadvantage. Now, there is 0 chance, even against casual players.
Players using the PC version to play on the couch are completely screwed now. One of the biggest reason I chose this game over other FPS' and now a patch ruined it.. again. - Anonymous8 years ago
Well myself and many others were not happy with how OP the aim assist was before and how it was getting abused by people with some scout rifles, it was just ridiculous and the internet was full of complaints and clips of people one shotting others without even seeing them through smoke or from a large distance. Don't forget that also kills the fun for many players!
Battlefield is not meant to be super easy/arcade. If you want a simple game there's COD, otherwise just put in the practice time and learn to play without the auto rotation, it's completely doable and I'm definitely no pro either. I would't count on this to be reverted, most people are very happy with this.

Can we hear some feedback from the devs so I know whether or not to plan on coming back to BF1 in the near future? I'd much rather not play then to subject myself to this frustration, I'm top 200 for playtime on this game globally so don't tell me git gud or I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm on PC and controller is my only option, no enjoyment at all versing mouse/keyboard users.

Very well put, aim assist was killing the game because I play to improve my skill and dont want something that does the aim for me

Aim assist was what kept this bug ridden, easily exploitable (slide-vault), extremely casual game alive, and allowed people to just pick up the game randomly and not rage quit. In my experience veteran savants go up against n00bs and what n00b legitimately wants to do that over and over without the old aim assist? Not having the old assist does deter people from playing. Check the player population count, and take into account new Christmas accounts, and you'll see when TUTI came out, peak player count is lower and it's getting worst. I stand by that it's a bad move. I play on PC for genuine fun (https://battlefieldtracker.com/bf1/profile/pc/stonedape420) and this update changed my outlook on the game, overnight. https://battlefieldtracker.com/bf1/insights/population?days=30

JP you said it yourself, you don't want something to do the aiming for you. That's great, so turn it off and let the people that use aim assist give feedback in a thread about aim assist free from being told to git gud.
