I can't believe you're all bitching about this without taking more time to practice.
AA was way too OP. Of course you will need some time adapting to the new system. I turned Auto rotation off myself a few months ago (I use mostly infantry/carbine rifles) and yes it was a bit more difficult and yes I lost some CQC 1v1 against people still using it but after 2 weeks I was back on the same level again.
Also now, EVERYONE has this 'disadvantage' now for a bit so it's completely fair. Also, once you're used to this, you can be more satisfied with your kiills cause you made them yourself.
Just practice and it will be okay after some time.
And me and everyone else here were very happy with how the game was. I don't need to give myself a pat on the back and say "Atta boy" ever time i get a kill without AA. I game to have fun and kill a few hours, I get no satisfaction from killing without AA. I already get enough challenges at work and school to go through and feel satisfied with my life.
- 8 years agoAim Assist needs to be fixed on the PC version. The latest patch completely broke it, and now controller players do not stand a chance. They did before the patch, even if they were still at a disadvantage. Now, there is 0 chance, even against casual players.
Players using the PC version to play on the couch are completely screwed now. One of the biggest reason I chose this game over other FPS' and now a patch ruined it.. again. - Anonymous8 years ago
Well myself and many others were not happy with how OP the aim assist was before and how it was getting abused by people with some scout rifles, it was just ridiculous and the internet was full of complaints and clips of people one shotting others without even seeing them through smoke or from a large distance. Don't forget that also kills the fun for many players!
Battlefield is not meant to be super easy/arcade. If you want a simple game there's COD, otherwise just put in the practice time and learn to play without the auto rotation, it's completely doable and I'm definitely no pro either. I would't count on this to be reverted, most people are very happy with this.

Can we hear some feedback from the devs so I know whether or not to plan on coming back to BF1 in the near future? I'd much rather not play then to subject myself to this frustration, I'm top 200 for playtime on this game globally so don't tell me git gud or I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm on PC and controller is my only option, no enjoyment at all versing mouse/keyboard users.
- Anonymous8 years agoJust wanted to give a quick update since I launched the post. Averaged 6 hrs/ day play time with a platoon every night that is competitive prior to the launch of Turning Tides. Now along with my platoon I’m averaging about 2-3 hrs/ day. Weapon choices changed significantly. I don’t see much advantage to running shotguns anymore bc with all the movement it’s too difficult to get on target. Its so much easier to use the Hellriegel than to carefully place those 2 slugs from a Model 1900 for example. This patch has put some weapons that were already at a height most weapons couldn’t hope to achieve at an unreachable level. The weapons were mostly balance in this game with the exemption of maybe the LMG’s, but even they had there place, now it feels like automatics have the advantage over everything else in terms of weapon balancing. Overall the gunplay feels so much less satisfying. Keep the comments coming. Tell your friends and try to adjust the best you can. I myself have almost 400 hrs now invested and I am ranked inside the top 10% currently by BTR.
- Anonymous8 years agoI don’t really see any difference between getting killed by a highly skilled player in one hit from a sniper rifle or one hit from an infantry rifle with aim assist. They are both very annoying but part of the game. Aim assist was in the game from the start and was there for everyone so it doesn’t give anyone an unfair advantage. I play mostly Domination on Xbox but I play a lot of conquest also, I am regularly near the top of the board and MVP a lot but a lot of my points come from PTFO. I have over 1000 hours on bf1, I play every class and have thousands of kills with loads of different weapons but I’m a very poor shot and with the aim assist nerf I now don’t feel comfortable playing aggressive sniper with an infantry rifle in the objective or running with a shotgun. I’ve had to change some settings to make me feel more comfortable and my last game was 40-10 MVP on Suez but just wasn’t as enjoyable.
