All Origin games Downloading at 20kb,

Hey guys and EA staff.

i am getting very VERY slow download speeds. This has only just happened since changing to an SSD as my main drive. i did not move origin games over this was a completly clean removal from old drive and fresh install on the new HDD.

i have tried downloading fifa13,BF3,bad company and medal of honor All start downloading at 500kb (which is very bad for me) then instantly start dropping all the way down to 20kb and does not move up from there,

I have 100MB - Cable - Virgin Broadband........radeon 7970,intel 3770k,16gig RAM,120 SSD and 2TB secondry. everything else i download works absolutly perfect, my speedtest.net results are - http://www.speedtest.net/result/2767579148.png

YES, i have tried re-installing origin

YES, i have tried my firewall and AV

YES, i have tried your diognostic tool for speed checking with origin

YES, Steam downloads my games at 12MB/ps

YES, i have reset my router

YES, i have rang my ISP to solve the issue which they assure me is an EA issue as everything else i download is at full speed

YES, i have tried changing DNS settings

So why is it i am getting this from EA Origin? i have heard through the grape vine that some peoples settings somewhere have been downloading from servers from the other side of the world, could i be one of them?

I would like a fix for this as i am going to be holding back on any new EA releases as i don't see why my friends can play when they want but i have to wait 2-3 days to download a game when i have the fastest internet avaliable in the uk.....then to have to download the updates that take another day.

please fix this EA, i used to trust you guys but now it seems i am just another gamer having another issue with EA that can not be resolved.

  • Hey

If this is happening today or at least few days for you because of EA E3 conference maybe servers are so busy🙂

This has been happening since a week ago.

This has nothing to do with E3, this is an issue that has been happening with a lot of people Loooooooong before E3.

    These steps should help you:

    https://help.ea.com/article/connection-issues-with-origin

The inability to connect to Origin is usually a blockage of data somewhere along the route of your Internet connection. When troubleshooting online connections, you should keep in mind that you are not only dealing with your home network, but also your Internet Service Provider's series of networks. Also be aware that there can be a number of routers that your connection will pass through in order to reach the EA server.

Information transferred on the Internet is handled by shuttling bits of information, known as packets. For example, when you visited this web page, all the parts of the page were passed to your modem in packets. Downloading information from the Internet is simply a matter of passing packets back and forth between your computer and a server.

If these packets fail to reach their destination, you will receive errors concerning your connection. Here is a short list of some of the things that can stop you from connecting:

    • Firewalls
Software firewalls on systems and hardware firewalls on routers will prevent your computer from connecting to our server. Check with your Firewall's manufacturer to learn how to adjust your Firewall settings and allow Origin to connect.
    • Server outages
Occasionally servers will experience an outage. Typically an outage can last from 24 to 48 hours. Check the official website for the game you are trying to access, or the official game forums, for any information on server outages.
    • Internet security software
Internet security software will block or filter information that may be vital for the software to run. Check your Internet security software and adjust its settings to allow Origin to access to Internet.
    • Scheduled server maintenance
During a scheduled maintenance you will not be able to connect to our servers. Check your game's official site for information on server outages.

If you continue on experiencing connection issues, it is possible that some of the following ports to connect to our servers are closed or blocked from your connection. The blockage can either come from your connection, or your ISP.

In order for Origin to connect to our servers and function properly, you will need o verify that the following ports are open:

    TCP ports:

    • 80
    • 443
    • 9960-9969
    • 1024-1124
    • 18000
    • 18120
    • 18060
    • 27900
    • 28910
    • 29900

    UDP ports:

    • 1024-1124
    • 18000
    • 29900

Please accept solutions if they are correct and press the XP button if somebody helped you. This way you help others in the same situation.

    Cheers
