Application error PID.dll

Unable to load the game at all.  Web interface shows it as logging in and the BF4 icon displays in the task bar, but a pop-up displays showing that BF4 has stopped working.

The event viewer records an application error (Event ID 1000).  Details recorded within event viewer are;

bf4.exe

1.3.2.15221

541a1598

pid.dll

6.1.7600.16385

4a5be03a

c0000005

0000000000006e6d

19f0

01cff9d42f8154e6

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\bf4.exe

C:\Windows\System32\pid.dll

72a66306-65c7-11e4-918f-10c37b6d4e54

I have reinstalled DirectX from the redist that came with the game

I bought a new mobo, quad core CPU, SSHDD and RAM purely to get this game working (last box was only dual core but at least I could play it.

    SFC scannow reports no errors.

Is there any way of perhaps trapping more information on the error?  This has been occurring from a completely fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate.  I have had to revert to other Directx games to amuse myself  while working the fault (Big sad face).

Running i7-4790 @3.6 GHz, 16GB Corsair RAM, NVIDIA GTX 580 on Win7 Ultimate

Fresh Windows installs want to do tons of updates, have you run and installed updates and rechecked for additional updates multiple times until none were left?

Control panel, Admin tools, Event viewer can show you more details on an error.

Installing the latest version of Origin or reinstalling if current may have an effect for you.

  • since C:\Windows\System32\pid.dll seems to be the problem i'd say just delete it, and restart your system and let win7 repair itself, maybe it's just that file that's corrupt or something

please don't try do dowload that fole from any website or something, that never ends well.

the win7 repair menu/process is quite effective, if it's really just that one dll-file you could get lucky 😉

If this helps, please click the white XP button and to give me some XP.
If this solves your question, click the green solution button and mark it as solution so it can help others with the same problem.

I have a new Win 10 Dell pc.  The game ran one time then all the same issues as you.  Got a new Video Card still. New user account did not help. spent hours on the phone with EA. They said re-install the OS☹️
