Hi as far as I know these are the old rules, The new rules are that they have this custom server button, and when that is turn on then custom rules apply. However Dice or EA will not enforce this button to be turn on. (§ = custom server button)😕mileyhappy:
No sienglish, you are in the wrong and this was discussed topic more than enough, abide by the ROC or EA DICE can punish you.

Hi 1st of I am never wrong there is a § symbol this is the Custom Server Button. 2. If you have rented a server and are just kicking people just to be the winner and getting your friends to stand still while you kill them then they will removed your stats.
If we say on our server no shotguns, and we have turned the § button on then we will kick you. And no we will not lose our server so always read the rules before you join. (but I think if you want knife only then it has to be Unranked) but for any other little thing then it fine
now if the server owners are creating an environment where they don't die and stuff (e.g., on gun master being switched to the loosing team)then by all means report them by there gamertag name even if they work for Dice or EA now if there is a new page since the last update then please repost it on here.

Well, never say never, as you are wrong here. The custom rules button has not changed EA's TOS, it is just there to help players know that custom rules are being applied, if selected by the admins.
You are confused, rightfully so, as EA advertised the server renting as being able to set your own rules and play how you want to play. What they didn't advertise, is that this is only applicable on UNRANKED servers, as the post above this one has stated.
You can not have (well you can, I don't think they care either way as long as you are paying for it) a RANKED server running custom rules that have a major effect on the gameplay as stated in the TOS, such as the no shotgun rule in your example.
It is incredible that many server admins have no idea about the TOS or how it applies to them. It should at least be emailed to anyone that has admin rights on a server, or a pop up when one rents a server or gains admin. My biggest question is why are there so many servers & admins in violation of the TOS and why is EA enforcing the TOS?
Please read the TOS (Rules of Conduct) found here - https://help.ea.com/article/bf3-rules-of-conduct
Short answer to OP's question, you can limit weapons but your server must be UNRANKED.

Then there's the DICE employee and BF3 developer Vallium. He have his own server on PS3 called "Better than HALO".. The rules are: "PTFO & No shotguns!". And I've been banned from it myself, for using a shotgun. You would think that a DICE employee knew the RoC for his own game..
That got me thinking.. Is the RoC for rented ranked servers on console too old now? Does is still apply?
I have also yet to hear about a single person who have got his server taken away from him, because he banned people for using a certain weapon..Rereading your original post has me absolutely bafffled, is the dice employe's server RANKED?

One of the many reasons is that official server providers don't monitor the servers of their customers as they are meant to. DICE will not shutdown someone's server before contacting the server provider.
