Audio quality changes for a bluetooth headset

I am using an LG hbs-730 headset with an asus usb-bt211 bluetooth dongle. I can play music on any media player, through the internet or skype and my audio is crystal clear. As soon as I startup battlefield, my audio quality changes to something that sounds like a recording of a 1960s tv. What can I do so that my bf4 audio quality doesnt get distorted?

Bumping, hoping someone has a solution. Having the exact same issue with a new pair of Kinivo Bluetooth headphones. Music and every other game sounds great, BF4 sounds terrible. I found another forum post a few days ago suggesting some manual edits to audio settings in Documents\Battlefield 4\settings\PROFSAVE_profile but that made no difference for me.

Yeah, I've got bluetooth Motorola Buds and when connected, it sounds completely **bleep**ty with the audio sounding mono coming from just in front of my face, no depth or anything. Any help would be awesome since these are a lot easier to wear than my big 7.1 Logitechs.

    actually i did 😕mileyvery-happy:

the problem is that BF4 is selecting the bluetooth headset profile (HSP) for doing voip. that is 8khz mono output.. like a 1960s tv

but what you actually need is A2DP. unfortunately you cannot force a profile in windows, only osx and linux offer this.

so to make windows use the A2DP profile you just have to switch out of bf4 (or start it after) and play something in an audio player (or soundcloud will do) and set the volume to 0. let it continue playing and switch back to BF4. 😕mileyhappy:

What is EA doing to fix it?? It is a shame for a company like this not to fix!!

I bought my Sony MDR-XB950BT! and it is Perfect!! not on Battlefield 4!

    What should i do??

    Return the headphones?

What audio profile do you have enabled in game, surround sound, stereo, war tapes etc?  Usually changing this will affect your quality and if you have it set to surround  and you use a non-surround sound stereo headset often it will sound as you describe.
