Bad company 2 crash to desktop after splash screen . Any ideas how to fix ?

I know I'm responding to an old post. Solution for me was to delete the BFBC2 folder under user, then documents. If you don't see the folder up top under view  tab select view hidden items. After reinstall if bad company 2 everything worked. Battlefield 2 stoped working, crash after intro. Hope this helps others that are looking for a solution 😉
