Banned for being too good at BF4?
Hi, I got an email that my account Syrelix2 received a permanent ban from EA.
As you can see, it is as vague as it gets, so I would like to ask if someone had a similar experience and how you handled this situation.
The background: Me (from Germany) and my friend from Austria decided that we needed a new game to play, so I suggested Battlefield 4. We both bought the game which was on sale for only 4.99€ on Origin. He gave me some codes from old Paysafecards that still had a bit of money on them and I bought the premium edition of the game.
Even though I hadn't touched any battlefield game for over a year, I used to be a great player and quickly got back into the game. Making MVP almost immediately in many of my matches. https://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/soldier/Syrelix2/stats/1006326769380/pc/
I lost access to my old account. The Email address to which it was linked was hacked.
But I thought it was no big deal, I wasn't playing any battlefield titles anymore anyway until recently and I thought I could just buy BF4 again for cheap and start over from 0. Now my account got banned after only 7 hours, unfortunately.
Since the reason they gave me for my ban was extremely vague, I can only assume that it has something to do with the Paysafecards I used that originally belonged to my friend from Austria, but if this was the problem, then why were they accepted as a payment option in the first place? I was able to download and play the game for a while after all. Another theory of mine is that I did so well in these first rounds that I played (in spite of my low level) that the game is suspecting me of cheating. Now I contested the ban, but have gotten no reply from EA so far for 3 days, and it seems like cases like mine take forever to resolve.
What should I do? buy the game again for 5 bucks and choose a different payment method this time? What if I get banned yet again on my third account? It would be nice if someone could help me pin down the exact (likely) reason for the ban and tell me how long cases like this usually take.
