Banned for being too good at BF4?

Hi, I got an email that my account Syrelix2 received a permanent ban from EA.

As you can see, it is as vague as it gets, so I would like to ask if someone had a similar experience and how you handled this situation.

The background: Me (from Germany) and my friend from Austria decided that we needed a new game to play, so I suggested Battlefield 4. We both bought the game which was on sale for only 4.99€ on Origin. He gave me some codes from old Paysafecards that still had a bit of money on them and I bought the premium edition of the game.

Even though I hadn't touched any battlefield game for over a year, I used to be a great player and quickly got back into the game. Making MVP almost immediately in many of my matches. https://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/soldier/Syrelix2/stats/1006326769380/pc/

I lost access to my old account. The Email address to which it was linked was hacked.
But I thought it was no big deal, I wasn't playing any battlefield titles anymore anyway until recently and I thought I could just buy BF4 again for cheap and start over from 0. Now my account got banned after only 7 hours, unfortunately.

Since the reason they gave me for my ban was extremely vague, I can only assume that it has something to do with the Paysafecards I used that originally belonged to my friend from Austria, but if this was the problem, then why were they accepted as a payment option in the first place? I was able to download and play the game for a while after all. Another theory of mine is that I did so well in these first rounds that I played (in spite of my low level) that the game is suspecting me of cheating. Now I contested the ban, but have gotten no reply from EA so far for 3 days, and it seems like cases like mine take forever to resolve.

What should I do? buy the game again for 5 bucks and choose a different payment method this time? What if I get banned yet again on my third account? It would be nice if someone could help me pin down the exact (likely) reason for the ban and tell me how long cases like this usually take.

  • I have already attempted that and got no reply for 3 days. Do I have no other options than to wait?

@Syrelix2 There aren't any other options I'm sorry to say. You'd need to wait for a response from the ToS team.

Hey @Syrelix2 you will need to wait for the TOS team to investigate and respond to you.

    @Syrelix2

If you go to this link

    https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/

also been shared above, and you created your case of issue. Make then sure to choose the option "live chat" to get in touch with an EA advisor, might need you to wait a bit. But there you can directly chat with someone and explain the situation so he then can investigate the case. Instead of waiting for an reply like via email or something you tried already.

Cause unfortunately we can't do anything here in the forum about a ban.

    Greets,

So now I have talked both to an Origin employee and an EA employee in life chat and they said they escalated my case,
which probably means they made it a high priority for the TOS team to handle.

Looks like I will have to wait for a response.

Thanks for recommending 2-factor authentification as well.
I will enable it as soon as I get unbanned, hopefully.

I will update this thread once I get a response.

Great. It took them 10 days of "investigating" to find out that I am guilty of who knows what after all and they didn't lift my ban even though the Origin employee assured me they would. They didn't give me any clue as to what rule specifically I allegedly violated and just gave me a standardized response email even though I EXPLICITLY asked them many times to tell me the reason.

My friend gave me access to his account and I am playing BF4 without any problem on it, but we can never play the game together now since we only have one account that works.
I can't buy the game again for cheap because the sale is over and I don't see why I should buy the same game for the third time when I already bought it 2 times.

I am super frustrated with this level of disregard for their customers.
Is it against the TOS to pay with the Paysafecard of a friend? I really need to know.
Any ideas or am I just effed?

Sorry to say @Syrelix2 but if our TOS team has denied your appeal then there is nothing that we can do on AHQ to change this.
