Battlefield 1 Connection Issues

So I got Battlefield 1 on christmas of 2016, and had fun time playing it. It worked perfect until a couple days ago. When the game updated, I logged in to play and it said it couldn't connect to EA servers. so, I relaunched the game multiple times until It actually worked, and when I found a server with about 75 ping, It loaded the game, and then kicked me and said I lost connection. When I went back to the menu, it said I couldn't connect to EA servers. I tried again the next day (Today), and i finally was able to get in to a game that said it was 80 ping or so. I got in, played for about 2 seconds before my ping went up to 700. it kicked me and I lost connection once again. My internet is fine, because everyone else in my family can use it, and so can I on other games, Youtube, Ect. but Battlefield has just not worked. I have unplugged and replugged my router, yet it doesn't seem to do anything. Please Help!

  • Hey there @Cknorsworthy

Have you gone through the basics of connection troubleshooting yet ?

Considering that the game used to work and now doesn't after an update, I would throw my guess on it being something local blocking the connection due to the game's file integrity changing.. For example, it could be an issue with your firewall blocking the connection. Even if you whitelisted it sometime in the past, updates can change the executable so that the firewall doesn't recognize the old whitelisting and it would need to be whitelisted again. Antivirus softwares sometimes are notorious for blocking connections as well.

So yeah, if I were you, I would first check the firewall's settings and anything else you have running on the background such as the antivirus software considering how it used to work and now after an update it doesn't.

Just to be on the safe side though, do try the Repair function on the game. I am pretty sure it won't fix this issue, but might as well try it just to narrow down any possible issues with the game's own files themselves.

    1. Select 'My Game Library' in Origin.
    2. Right-click on the game tile.
    3. Select 'Repair'.

You can also try clicking the 'Update game' function following those same steps to ensure that your game is actually updated. It should do this automatically, but again, might as well be on the safe side and narrow down any possibilities for the issue of yours.

    Good luck !

I've tried all these steps yet every single time I attempt to join a Server, I get the same dumb message. Cannot connect, rah rah rah. It's very annoying as it was working perfectly 2 weeks ago, no dramas until one night my internet goes out (not my fault).

Is there any E-mail support line or something? I do not want to call EA as they'll make sure I end up with a $200 phone bill.
