I'm having the same issue with the trial, the multiplayer no longer works! it WAS working before the update. I can't believe this issue hasn't been fixed yet. At the VERY least EA could notify it's paying customers that their trial game's multiplayer - that you still have to pay for via origin access - is no longer functioning properly. If it's been a week and a game breaking bug hasn't been fixed how do you think they will handle the retail game?
I would suggest you don't buy the game as a "fix" as it gives EA very little incentive to fix the problem.
