Question about purchasing Steam version after EA version of BF4

Personally I'm a super Battlefield series fan and I would like to get another copy of BF4 on steam for my library collection. However, I've frequently heard about players found their accounts banned after purchasing both EA and Steam version of BF4. So, is there a way that I can buy the steam version of bf4 after purchasing ea version of bf4 without getting my account banned?
