Battlefield 1 hit quetion

Hi

I bought online the Batlefied 1 a few years ago and congratulations, excellent work and gameplay the best WW1 game ever

The essence of the problem is that the hits do very little damage to the opponent, but I usually hit them in vain (except for snipers)
The opponent usually shoots me right away
The question is, do they have any extra accessories or am I seeing things wrong, that I would be weaker than my opponents?

Thank you

  • Hi @im19825 Depends what weapon they're using largely. If an enemy is using a shotgun in close quarters and you have a SLR, for example, then they'll most likely win. Same for if you're attacking a sniper within their sweet-spot - they'll potentially win as they'll oneshot you.

    Thanks for the reply
So it doesn't affect what battlepack is bought for the game in terms of hit points?
I don't know, compared to the campaign mode, the multiplayer is very difficult and the hit points are much harder to get than the opponent as long as you die sooner

@im19825 There isn't really pay-to-win in Battlefield 1, so there's no way for players to buy buffs and so on, thankfully. Even the DLC weapons are on par with the base game ones for the most part. Also, everything from Battlepacks is either a cosmetic, a puzzle piece for a melee weapon, or an XP boost.

What class and gamemode do you usually play? People on this board should be able to give you some tips.

If an enemy sniper's scope is rainbow-colored, you are in danger because you are within sweet spot distance (one body shot will kill you).
But for example the Gewehr M.95 Mannlicher has no sweet spot.

    watch the rainbow effect:

@HUN_gattaca_lg The mannlicher M95 it was the weapon of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy in the First World War (the Austrian Genarme even used it in some places during the Second World War)
The Austro-Hungarian Mannlicher fires 8mm ammunition as a base, but only ammunition made of lead with a conical top
In contrast, the German Gewehr Mauser FMJ fired pointed FMJ ammunition in 7.92×57mm
Later, the Monarchy also switched to this German ammunition in the later stages of the war, as the German ammunition is stronger

    @im19825

I recently found this useful information about the Gewehr M.95 Marksman weapon based on a Battlefield 1 youtuber's video:
"you can reload without zooming out so you can stay on target easier"

in Hungarian: boom-boom-boom-boom-boom, five quick booms in a row without zooming out the scope

@im19825 Great, if you've got all the DLCs then I'd recommend unlocking the Federovs for the medic class, if you haven't already. They're basically assault rifles so you can hold your own quite well up close, but still be effective at range by using single shot or bursts. I am biased there slightly, though, as I have 100 service stars on the Optical version, so used it a lot. The Cei-Rigotti, Autoloading Extended, M1907 SL Sweeper are all very decent IMHO too.

If it helps, I mostly use the BARs for Support as I find them effective at short to mid range (you'll reload a lot though), or the IMG from the Tsar DLC since it has a high ROF. I also generally use the Lee Enfield variants (or occasionally the M.95 carbine) for Scout as the sweet-spot is decent...and I'm British lol. I don't play Assault much, but when I do I usually favour the Ribeyrolles from the French DLC to give myself some range.

Positioning is key in Battlefield, but you should pick that up naturally as you learn the maps. Although, it might be worth sticking with your team as much as possible and focusing on supporting roles (spotting, healing/reviving, and resupplying) over kills should help you learn how to play the classes effectively.

I found a very detailed EA description on the subject (sweet spot range, glint type and depth of field comparison)

New sniper rifle sweet spot communication
    https://www.ea.com/en-gb/games/battlefield/news/bf1-weapons-crate-update-2018

Please note, the depth of field changes for scopes are off by default. We acknowledge that many Scout players have grown accustomed to the current settings, which will remain the default way of engagement.
But, for those of you who want better communication when aiming down scope, head over to the Video Options and select “Sniper Scope DOF” and toggle it on. This will give you all the scope depth of field benefits outlined above. The new glints, however, are always active.
