That is never happening.

EA = thieves and fraudsters.
Hello QC,
I'm writing to add my lamentations to the chorus, and I hope that my unique perspective might bring some merit to our cause.
I've been in game dev for 20 years.
I understand that priorities and budgets change things from the top down.
I understand that the rational corporate move is to support the new game and migrate the player base.
And I understand that EA is a giant company where diffusion of responsibility is certainly the norm.
However, I'd like to appeal to your own love of games, which we share.
I'm sure you have a game in your own mind when I say that this (BF1) is my favorite game of all time. It's the only game I make time to play anymore.
I have been playing BF since the '42 beta. This, BF1, is the MASTERPIECE that was built on the shoulders of all those that came before.
I can tell that this game was built with love, by a team who really really cared. As a AAA game dev who's been through the mill, realizing that makes me happy.
That said, I'm humbly suggesting the following: That you find a special place for this gem that your company once built. Because gems are RARE, and prized by everyone.
It can be done. Forward this to your manager. Ask them to forward it to their own. Give the initiative a good name and wrap it nicely; use it to reach for that promotion. I've done as much.
And here's the heart of it: Find a way to protect art. Use this as the benchmark, and repeat it with other beloved classics. You will rebuild your company's reputation for very little investment. That has to be worth something to someone up the chain. And anyone who stands behind great art will always find support.
0.02. Thanks for reading with an open mind. Best,
D
