Battlefield 1 won't work

I downloaded battlefield 1 yesterday with xbox game pass, but after downloading the game I get the error “game failed to start” whenever I want to open it. I tried to verify the game but it didn't work. All my drivers and windows are up to date. Please help me solve the problem because the game won't open in any way ☹️

  • Thank you both guys. Today I deleted the game and installed it on ssd. Before I did that I made sure my video card drivers and updates were up to date. I think the problem is that the game doesn't work properly with the hdd. If anyone else is having the problem you can try my solution or try @neoforo87 's solution.

@Cobra2Actual and @neoforo87 thanks for your help.

  • I'm a console player so I have no answer for you but you might want to search the forum for similar posts that describe certain background programs running on PC's that interfere with the game.

  • thank you for your interest. do you mean things like virus apps? Because I have disabled all my anti-virus programs but nothing has changed. The error I'm getting says “Try installing the game again.” and I'm trying to download it again now, but I'm not sure if it's going to work

@MustafaKemal1923 I'll ask someone who's a PC player if they can help you. I mean other programs that run in the background that could be interfering ...they'll know and can help you for sure.

@neoforo87 can you help out here?

Only thing I can recommend is doing cross check of the programs that are installed with the ones being mentioned in this thread here.

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield-1/BF1-for-PC-Doesn-t-Start-After-EA-anticheat-Update/m-p/14190188#M82889

In  short there is  a  program on your PC @MustafaKemal1923  that interferes with the EAAC, which one it is I can't tell  but check what was mentioned in that thread and you'll see.

The other option is, if you got a spare SSD, is to install windows then drivers (in off line mode  aka pull the network cable)  then let windows update and install EA App and BF 1.

After that start installing the programs that you want and eventually you'll find a program  that will prohibit starting BF 1. I suggest starting BF 1 after each finished installation, it's tedious I know.

    Hope this helps.
