i have windows 8. i tried what you recommended. and it still crashes. it will bring up a black screen for about 3 seconds then crash back to the desktop.
Okay
Addition to Compatibility Setting, the following settings will solve the problem.
1. Check your resolution and refresh rate.
a. Open Display Settings by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Display Settings. You will see the resolution.
b. Click Advanced Settings.
c. Click the Monitor tab, you will see your fresh rate.
2. Open C:\Users\<Your Name>\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\Video.con by notepad.
3. You will see this line
VideoSettings.setResolution 1024x768@60Hz
(the number will not the same)
4. Change the number like
VideoSettings.setResolution 1920x1080@144Hz
5. Done!
If it does not help, do the same to C:\Users\<Your Name>\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001\ as well as 0002, 0003 and so on.
I hope this will help.
