Battlefield 2 off of a flash drive
Hey guys! I just bought a copy of BF2 off of the internet just for nostalgia purposes. Really psyched to play! However, I wanted the game on my disk-drive-less laptop, so I copied the files on the disk from a PC with a DVD-ROM drive onto a flash stick, and stuck it in my laptop. All of the setups ran fine, as well as the patches, but once it was done I tried to open the file and it wouldn't let me. ("Please insert Battlefield 2 Install Disc and select OK to retry.). I then tried to open the Autorun file from within the game folder and it gave me essentially the same message (ALERT_INSTERT_CD1). What I understand is that the game wants the disk to be in even though A. my laptop does not have a disk drive, and B. it's running off of a flash drive. Does anyone know a workaround? I'd rather not * with source code if I don't need to, but at this point I'm open to any suggestions...
Thanks!
