Battlefield 2142 Activation Problems

Login into www.pogo.com and create a EA Classic screen name. 
Login into profile.ea.com using the EA email id and password. 
Scroll down the page, click on " Add Persona". 
Select option " existing EA classic screen name". It will open a login window. 
Login using pogo screen name and password. 
Click on " Add Persona". 
Now pogo screen name should appear under " Select a default persona" heading. 
Double click on the pogo screen name.

Due to the age of Battlefield 2142 it seems like it still requires some EA Classic account linked to your actual Origin account, which should be done via the steps above.

After you've created and linked a Pogo (EA Classic) account to your Origin account, please restart Origin and try again.

I have tried this with my original "EA Classic screen name" and one that I created on pogo, but I continue to get the message "Could not connect to the server, please try again in a few minutes."

I'm having the same issues.

I got a classic persona already but getting the same activation message. Looks like your activation servers are having issues.

Any body going to bother answering these queries

Yep, I'm still getting the same issue too and have done all the steps above.  At this point, I'm considering this as EA not allowing me to access content I've paid for.

Arghh why doesnt this work? I wanna go back to 2142!!!!

Anyone get around this yet? I ran into it as well after installing from Origin. It is like the Activation server is shut down. I thought that the GameSpy shutdown was on the 30th. Did they shut it down early and if so is this the effect of that?

When I looked into file "DMLEGACY_Core_Log.html" in folder "C:\ProgramData\Origin\Logs" I saw almost in the bottom of the file this message: "Login attempt rejected due to invalid DIP path configuration. Base Install Dir: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games"
When I checked my computer in folder "C:\Program Files (x86)" I did not have folder "Origin Games" so I created the folder, started BF2142 again, wrote my activation info and then BF2142 started.

So I guess on my old installation I had that folder when BF2142 worked and not on my new installation or it have been removed with an Origin update.
