I may DON'T actually have a solution.
Update: Sorry, false alarm, this just turns off SLI and I didn't notice a performance change.
Leaving the post here for reference.
I didn't have time to test it for more than about half an hour but it ran fine for that time, and it usually doesn't.
- Download a program called nVidia Inspector (just google it).
- Start the program.
- Next to driver version there's a button with a spanner and screwdriver
- click the button
- in the profile selection menu at the top find "Battlefield 4" (type it to save your scrolling finger)
- near the top of the window there's an option called "SLI compatibility bits (DX1x)"
- Change what's in there to "0x00000000"
- click Apply changes in the top right
This is the part of the driver configuration that tells the system how to handle SLI for this game (specific hacks and workarounds to improve performance, remove bugs, etc). These are added and changed whenever nVidia says "Updated SLI profile for [game X]". By putting in "0x00000000" it tells the system to just handle the game as normal with no specific settings.
I seriously hope that I tested it long enough to know if it works, but I'm really sorry if it doesn't work. I hate people who come into a forum going "OH EM GEE I FIXED IT" and suggesting something that everyone's tried or doesn't work, but I just felt it was my civic duty to let you know.
And for reference I'm running an i7-3700k, 12gb of RAM (don't ask why 12), and two GTX 680s.
no it is the same, crash after 5 min, thank you even
