Battlefield 4 error upon launching: "invalid license; missing DLL"

Hey fellas, recently I've encountered this error when trying to start up Battlefield 4 both on Origin and now on Steam as well (not sure why I thought it would've had a different outcome). I'm given the message "Invalid license. Reason code = Missing DLL: [MSVCP110.dll] Error: 0xC1". When first installing I had no issues with the game but then I got the platinum edition and this started happening. I've tried reinstalling, repairing, restarting, and even trying to reinstall the C++ microsoft redistributable thing and nothing has worked thus far. Anyone got any ideas on what could be the problem? I appreciate any help!

  • @StarGuy96 yeah just install the vcredist_x64.exe in the game files and it will work fine c:\Battlefield 4\__Installer\vc\vc2012Update3\redist\vcredist_x64.exe here is how to find it

  • Just to bump this problem for anyone else who may have had this issue recently, going into the installation folder and updating the c++ files didn’t work, EA help directed me to the updated Microsoft download link for the c++ plugin

It will give you the option to install. Or if you already have the old drivers installed, and option to “repair” or “uninstall”

Go ahead and repair, close out of origin and reboot it. And you should be good to go with no issues as long as it’s just this that isn’t working.
