Battlefield 4 getting stuck in background processes - Task manager - Windows 8.1

So I tried playing battlefield 4 today, and anyone who plays it knows you join servers through your browser on the battlelog website.

But today when I tried to join a server, it got stuck on joining game, bf4 didn't even show up on the task bar. So I went to task manager to see if the game was actually running and there it was just sitting there in background processes, I let it sit there for a good 5 minutes before I was satisfied that it wasn't going to open.

Anyone know why this is happening?

Thanks,

    Fixed it!!!

    Here's what I did,

    I closed origin,

Joined a game through battlelog with origin closed,

origin of course opened but did an update!,

when the update had finished the game opened as normal :D

  • This has been happening sporadically since launch. Manually killing bf4.exe and hitting rejoin in Battlelog usually solves the problem. You may have to repeat this process a couple of times.

I had the same problem and I think it might due to the Bordless option, if u manage to open the game again change it to Fullscreen and it will be back to you as a normal (and not background) app.

This worked for me after seeing this coment in another forum:

    Napsterbater:

If this is Windows 10, you will need to edit your Config file and disable Borderless Window Mode.

See this thread as this problem was found in the Preview (beta) build for Windows But has not been fixed yet.

Try deleting your settings folder - it solved the problem for me.

    C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Battlefield 4
